characteristics |
Trivalent chromium passivation used for aluminum forms a transparent, light-colored coating. Corrosion resistance is better than hexavalent chromium passivation process. It can also be used for aluminum alloys and aluminum die castings. Easy to operate in dipping, spraying and manual wiping processes. It can also be used for pretreatment of painting, powder spraying and gluing. TRC, the trivalent chromium passivator for aluminum and its alloys, is diluted with deionized water to build a bath. Before building a bath, please thoroughly clean the tank. For new tanks or new production lines, clean it with 10% sulfuric acid solution, and then clean it with water. Then add measured deionized water required for TRC, stir evenly, measure its pH, and adjust the pH to 3.9. |

Standard impregnation pretreatment process: Aluminum alloy (silicon content Aluminum alloy (silicon content>1%): weakly alkaline degreasing → decontamination |
Standard spray pretreatment process: acidic degreasing The TRC treated film can be immediately subjected to the next coating process after drying. If the passivated workpiece is left for 24 hours and then coated, the effect will be better. The drying temperature cannot be higher than 65℃. |

Maintenance: Regularly adjust the solution to the optimal concentration and pH value according to the analytical method and pH meter. |
Consumption: Most of the consumption is caused by losses. For every 1 square meter of product processed (including carry-out volume), 15-25 ml of concentrated solution need to be added. |
Test: The passivated workpiece must be placed at room temperature for 24 hours before undergoing neutral salt spray testing. |
Environmental protection: Used TRC solution and its washing water must be treated and discharged in accordance with national and local regulations. The general process is to neutralize it with lime milk until the pH value reaches 9-10, and then precipitate, filter and discharge. TRC concentrate is hazardous to water and has a water hazard level 1 (self-assessment). |
